Week five: The pathway to prayer

But without faith it is impossible to please Him (God), for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Heb11: 6

As we journey through prayer, there will be times when it gets heavy, and the communication with the Father gets obstructed. Some how the channel is not clear or the normal distance we used to feel while praying gets extended to an endless horizon to the point of hearing the echo of our own voice coming back as soon as we open the mouth to pray.

Giving up would be a normal response in this situation, but we must know that not feeling the presence of God doesn’t mean that He is not there. We have a tendency to believe through the five senses. If I can’t touch it, it is not there, if I can’t see it, it is not there, I didn’t hear it, it was never spoken, I don’t smell it, it is not there.

It is important to know that we can’t experience God through our five senses, therefore; faith is the first key to unlock the relationship with our Father God. We must know that even though we don’t see Him with our human eyes, He is. Though we can’t touch Him with our hands, He is.

With this knowledge, we have the assurance that He listens to our spoken prayers, and also our unspoken ones. He knows our hearts’ desires, our yearnings, and then we can confidently and patiently wait to hear back from Him. Prayer is a two-way communication, surely He will answer when we acknowledge that He is there, that He listens, that He sees.

I don’t know where you are in your life journey today, I just want to encourage you as I pray that your faith will be strengthened, that you may certainly know that He (God) is, that He knows where you are, and what you lack today. I pray that when the reward’s time comes for those who seek Him diligently, we will not be missing. Keep seeking, keep pursuing. Don’t give up.

Father sustain the faith of the weary today, hold the trembling hand of the one who is about to give up, send help to the one who’s cry is being silenced by the mockers who continuously ask where is your God?

Sustain us Oh Lord my God, in the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN.
